Absolutely Phantomless Australia (13.04.1995) VOB LIMITED TRADE
The Australian cast of Phantom of the Opera in their annual Easter Charity Concert. Each of Cameron Mackintosh's Australian shows participates at midnight after their regular performances. These shows feature the cast members parodying songs and other shows, with a slight tilt towards their own productions. Pro-shot for video, these tapes were made for cast and crew only. Very rare! Very enjoyable show
London 1987 VOB: Michael Crawford, Rebecca Caine (alt.), Steve Barton
Huge generation loss, ends after Masquerade / lots of TV-clips of L.A. Phantom. Extremely rare

Michael Crawford, Patti Cohenour, Steve Barton, Nick Wyman, Cris Groenendaal, Judy Kaye, David Romano, Leila Martin
Michael Crawford’s final Broadway performance; shot from the balcony, right side if you're facing the stage. The sound is good. I also like the vivid color. Faces are not clear from a distance, but in the close-up shots you can make out most features. Not that you can definitely recognize anyone. There is a skip of a few minutes at the beginning of Masquerade. I guess the video had to be changed in the camera. At the end is the farewell from the cast to Michael Crawford, a speech by Steve Barton and a speech by Crawford B-

EXTENDED HIGHLIGHTS) Jeff Hyslop, Patti Cohenour(us), Byron Nease. MOST of Act I,
missing Prima Donna, the Il Muto Ballet and the Rooftop but includes part of the Reprise.
Resumes immediately before Wandering Child, then jumps to PONR, missing Down Once More,
but has complete Final Lair. Details and facial features are quite good for its age and there doesn't
appear to much gen loss. The only thing is that the video is basically black and white and sometimes jumps. 1 DVD C

Phantom of the Opera, the 2002 Madrid), Spain Bootleg?Proshot? [VOB]Juan Carlos Barona (alt.), Julia Möller (alt.), Zenon Recalde (u/s)There are also some videos in 2002 or 2003 of this production marked as proshot. I think it's because the quality is just between proshots and bootlegs. Some Generation loss, fuziness and small noises sometimes, but with extremely steady and great capture, some clear close-ups, brilliant quality for its age. A

Big picture, a little fuzzy. Blocking from heads and the bar in front; camera can be very shaky. Many wideshots and gigantic closeups as well. In German.

Brad Little, Marni Raab, Jarrod Carland
Highlights of Act One only, unfortunately, running nearly 38 minutes.
It includes Overture, Hannibal (incomplete - from the beginning to "he does so well opposite La Carlotta"), Think of Me, Angel of Music (mostly complete), The Mirror, The Phantom of the Opera (nearly complete), Music of the Night (incomplete), I Remember / Stranger Than You Dreamt It (from Marni waking up in bed until "secretly, secretly"), Prima Donna and All I Ask of You ("what was that" to the part where Raoul twirls her around after they kiss, then Brad's reprise ending with "the phantom asked of you," and finally a brief shot of the chandelier crashing).
The picture quality is stunning. Each scene is labeled individually in both English and Chinese. DVD (A)

Not my own review: Filmed from the left mezzanine, includes announcement, entire show, curtain calls, and Sandra’s heartfelt farewell speech to Hugh. Hugh is amazing in this video, and so is Sandra. Great cast, great night, and great capture— you’ll definitely want to own this one!

Comments from another trader: An EXCELLENT capture of the Broadway show. Looks like it’s filmed from the center mezz, and the taper has a nice camera that manages to keep the picture sharp, delivering great close-ups AND full views. Somewhat rare video of Gary & JHW together.

Very good quality, with closeups and wideshots. Camera is fairly steady, but has little shakes almost constantly, and strays quite a lot to empty parts of the stage.
